Again, I must begin this update by thanking everyone for all of the wonderful comments, emails and letters!
Today was my final radiation treatment…YAY!! Now we must wait a while before we can know how effective my treatments were. Meanwhile, my job is to work on getting my energy back and according to my physicians that may be 2-3 weeks. Yuck!
Anyway, here is my latest medical update from the Rena Tarbet Cancer Center in McKinney, Texas!

I’m so glad that your radiation is done! You are a woman of great strength and courage and you are an example to all of us! I am praying for you to be healed by the Great Physician. Hip, hip hooray!!! I’m sooo thrilled that you are DONE–”well-cooked”, we might say, huh?! Time to rest up and rejuvenate your body, dear friend. The extreme tiredness may be from so many years of accumulated treatments and your body saying NO MORE! I remember radiation being so much more exhausting than chemo, however, I have no doubt your energy will bounce back with some good food and lots of rest. I’m gonna call you so we can catch up. It was such a pleasure to meet and talk with you on your last day of treatment. My David is in the fight for his life and your encouragement and strength was so very appreciated. Our God is an amazing God and I know he will continue to heal and strengthen you just as he will with my husband. We give God all the honor and glory!
Life certainly has it’s twists and turns. I joined Mary K 8 years ago and love my Mary K girlfriends. It was a special honor to meet you!

Dearest Rena ~ 30 years ago I joined Mary kay Cosm. and at that time heard you only had six months to live! Now, I don’t know who it was spreading those kind of rumors but they obviously didn’t know your God!!! Congratulations on rising above the circumstance with such a wonderful attitude, gratitude and LOVE!!! Cannot wait to see what the Lord has you doing next!!! To God be the glory!!

Rena, You are so loved by me and sooo.. many of our Mary Kay sisters! I pray that God’s presence will so surround and stregthen and heal you as HE most certainly has for so many years. I came to see you the last time you came to Baton Rouge,Louisiana. Thanks for that visit. You are a hero in my eyes and I love you with all my gizzard!!

Rena, you are so strong and resourceful, we are praying for you and your full recovery. You are a beautiful person, and we remember our times together at the Worden School in the 60′s and our meager financial struggles at that time, what fun we had with all those kids!
